Florida Homeschool Family Fun!

La Nina

It’s an over cast morning and we head out with some homeschool friends to see a replica of Columbus’ smallest ship, La Nina. It was a nice drive and being with friends and family was the highlight. The ship itself was overwhelmingly small.

I couldn’t believe these explorers endured such conditions for. Their bravery, passion, and greed was a powerful driving force to travel so far in such tight quarters.

The kids had a great time. But I belive the dads had an even better time chatting with the crew. The crew lives on board year round and travels to many ports exhibiting this small but wondrous vessel. It wa constructing without modern tools only using the techniques of that time period. It took two years to build. You can learn more and find out it if they will be in your area by visiting http://www.thenina.com/. We ended our field trip with a nice lunch at chili’s.
